  1. Hey Kathleen! If you are looking to save some money and feel a bit crafty check out Michael's craft store. They have tons of good stuff to make.

I helped my mom plan her wedding and Michael's was always a fun place to shop for the little things. Like ribbons for your invites or glass vases or baskets. You could even make candle centerpieces! The ideas are endless! Just go into the store with an open mind and you can find tons of things to make or think up on a budget!

I hope that helped you out.

    Much love,
    Brittany.

  2. OK - you're totally going to think I'm a stalker for writing on your FB and your blog in one day! You're safe, I'm harmless, just don't ask Ben Nelson his opinion. :)
A tip from our wedding (which I didn't follow but wish I did!). Publix makes AMAZING cakes. They're beautiful and delicious - they'll make custom designs and let you schedule a taste test (which I did do - yum!). A fancy cake can be expensive, so order a small one just for cutting and freezing, and then order a huge sheet cake with a similar frosting color and have that one served instead (they'll keep it in the kitchen out of sight). A giant sheet cake is like $75. If you're not a fan of Publix, try Cinotti's. That's who we used. They were the least expensive bakery in Jax and they taste amazing (plus it's a Christian family business so I'm always a fan of contributing to that).
And if you need anything baby blue and brown (those were our colors) let me know! I bought/had made almost all of our decor and it's just sitting in my closet (including tons of vases and fun jars - I had a candy buffet for our guest gifts).
I love weddings! I hope you're having fun planning and that you aren't stressing too much!
    XOXO

  3. OK. Here comes stalker part 2. :)
I made my wedding programs. I bought colored paper at Michael's and printed them at home. I made fans; I folded the program (it was one whole sheet, front and back) around a popsicle stick and glued it shut. I also hole-punched the tops and put a litte white ribbon in each one.
I also made the table labels - I didn't want just numbers so I used the same paper and printed out names so all the colors and papers coordinated.
If you haven't discovered it yet - theknot.com (and even Martha Stewart's website!) have some nice craft tricks and inexpensive favors and decorations.
We also totally skipped the bubbles/rice exit - we just snuck out. We didn't do that to save $$ but it would save you some (those little bubble things can be expensive if you have to buy a ton of them).
I shopped around for a long time for a florist. Floriade (in Jax beach) was the best deal. Tiffany made me gorgeous arrangements and bouquets for my budget. She made our flower girl a flower wand and she absolutely adored it.
    That's it for now!

  4. Hey Love! U are too cute! ok here are some things I did :)

There are places where you can rent your tuxes and get wedding invites for free (or at least here in Chicago) Really good ones too. so look for that.

We have a fab. photographer here in Chi. that is sorta new and travels and doesnt cost to much if you wanna check him out Jacob Preedin (FB)... Dont go with the large corporate photographers they cost alot and usually dont do as good a job as a creative individual!

When u go to find a place for a recption ask to see the lunch or dinner prices not the wedding package.. usually the wedding package is very pricey and the usual prices are cheaper. Bring someone with you that can put there foot down and say we want the usual prices not the wedding package.

Ok hope your having so much fun! Marriage is crazy fun :)

  5. Hey friends!!

What great ideas! Thank you so much for sharing!

Lael- LOL!! Thanks for a great laugh. I TOTALLY do NOT think you're a stalker.... just a new friend :-) I hope we can all hang out sometime soon. Oh, and I've heard a lot about Cinotti's.... I'm definitely going to give them a shot for the cake. I hear it's delicious, as you confirmed. :-)

Lana- HEY YOU!!! It's been too long! Thanks for the tip about the tux shops/invitations deal. I'll keep an eye out for that. Awesome!
