Day 254: Checkity-Check-Check!

Accomplishing the Checklist: (I thought it'd be fun to share the successes along the way =-)

We'll be married at our amazing church, Christ the Redeemer!

We'll be married by our Associate Pastor, Sean Yost. He's had a huge impact on our lives!

Our dear friend and mentor, Pastor Bowen Slade, will assist Pastor Sean in the wedding ceremony.

Roses have always been my favorite flower. They will join us for the occasion (they'll be everywhere!!!)

Logan Venn will be our Flower Girl! She's more excited than I could've ever imagined. So blessed to have her in the wedding!

Pastor Bowen's son, Tommy Slade, will be our "Ring Boy", as we're calling it! He's been a beautiful part of our story since the very beginning. We love our Tommy!

We will take Communion, remembering the incredible sacrifice of our King, as our first act as a married couple during the ceremony.

Of course, other things have been accomplished too, but these were some of the most important to us! Now, I'm going to pose a question to all of you married ladies who are reading this... think really hard....

QUESTION OF THE DAY:
What is One (1) thing you REGRET and One (1) thing you LOVED MOST about your wedding day?

Love you all,
Kathleen

  1. I regret not having a wedding photographer at my wedding. I loved being married by Sean Yost and knowing that we were his first wedding.

  2. So many things! I regret not video taping the ceremony! It was 1997! I wish I had taken in the moment more. I was so excited about being married, that I didnt stop to smell the roses! :) (pun intended) I wish our reception had been longer, so we could have spent some more quality time with the people we loved. And I wish more people would have taken the mic and made toasts. I would have loved to hear from more people. (a friend of mine did that at her rehearsal dinner and it was so much fun!)

I loved being married by Sean too! We met at his house at youth group and he and Barb mentored us through our relationship! And still do sometimes! :) He told some cute stories about us and our relationship that made it more intimate with everyone. :)

  3. I don't regret a thing. The one thing I loved most was looking into Jamie's eyes as we said our vows. It was so touching to see the love that I felt for him reflected back at me.

  4. Maybe that the reception time was so short. Perhaps that was because we'd dated for 5 1/2 years prior to getting married. (wink, wink) and the thing I loved was after all of those years together, finally hearing "I now pronounce you man and wife." AND Mark "dipping me way back" for our first kiss. That was quite a fun surprise!!

  5. Hmm ask the youth groups about our car situation.
Beaches Chapel and Calvary. I was so shocked that teenagers would do what they did. Favorite part of wedding. When we kissed initially I had him kiss my cheek haha. Just my nerves I guess.. Cause I sure like kissing him to this day..
And walking down the isle with God was pretty cool. Seeing him crying was super touching. (Bowen)

  6. Ok...so I am not married, but I have a lot of married friends and we have talked about this, so I thought I would share my thoughts with you! First of all regrets. The biggest regrets I have heard have been
1-Letting other people take over yout planning. Remember its YOUR and JEREMYS big day. Take advice, but remember you dont have to do what everyone else wants. If you start doing that you will start to get frustrated with the people you care about most and will only stress you out more.
2-They didn't eat at or after the reception. MAke sure you have one of your girls get each of you a plate of food and some cake.

Favorites-The reception, The time to yourselves between the ceremony and the reception, and the food! :-)

Remember, I have never been married, so take it with a grain of salt, and enjoy!

ps..I LOVE this blog! I hope you don't mind that I am totally using this idea when I finally get engaged. HAHAHA

  8. congratulations! :) i'm a blog addict. love what you are doing. i regreted not having posed pictures from our wedding. and, we didn't invite friends - just family - to the ceremony and we had everyone at the reception. looking back, i am sad my best friends didn't see us get married. i'm sure they are, too. my bff's mom (robyn rhoads) married us and that was so special. and, it was on the beach. otherwise, just remind yourself to slow down at the reception and ENJOY it. p.s. this is crissy armstrong

  9. Congrats! And I love the blog too, so fun! Ok, the only thing I regret is not trying on more dresses before I chose the one I wore. I did love it but it was one of the first i tried from the first place i went. I have always wondered if there was another dress I would have loved more. so Try on lots of dresses, it so fun anyway!
The one thing I loved most about my wedding day was that it felt very ordained, weird word to use but just as soon as the doors opened and my dad and I were walking down the aisle it felt Holy. Like this was in God's plan all along. Not sure if it was all the people praying for us or just a realization of the moment but it was amazing. And still is. I love my husband and am still amazed that he loves me.
We also had a super fun reception!
Love you! And are incredibly happy for you both!
